CTI certified

The Cooling Technology Institute (CTI) enjoys global recognition for its role in validating the performance of evaporative, hybrid, and dry cooling equipment. HACST offers a range of CTI-certified heat rejection equipment within its BHX series.

Exaggerating the performance capabilities can lead manufacturers to provide customers with inadequately sized equipment. This, in turn, may result in reduced efficiency, increased utility consumption, and the risk of processes failing to maintain fluid temperatures under peak ambient conditions. HACST dedicates considerable time and resources to attain CTI certification, thereby safeguarding customers from subpar equipment and the need for costly field testing associated with non-CTI certified equipment.

What is CTI?

CTI is an independent third-party organization that verifies the thermal performance data published by manufacturers of evaporative, hybrid, and dry heat rejection equipment. Membership in CTI is voluntary and entails rating all products in the program on a standardized scale. Established in 1983, CTI comprises 84 individual manufacturers and boasts almost 200 certified product lines. Prior to CTI’s inception, engineers and end users lacked the means to confirm the thermal performance ratings of heat rejection equipment. CTI’s independent validation of these ratings levels the playing field among equipment manufacturers and empowers engineers and end users to make well-informed decisions when specifying and purchasing cooling equipment.

Enhancing awareness of CTI certification underscores the immense value of investing in CTI-certified equipment. Non-CTI certified equipment necessitate costly field testing as the sole method to ascertain thermal performance. In cases where the equipment is undersized due to manufacturers’ performance exaggerations, it may struggle to meet the desired fluid temperatures during peak ambient conditions, ultimately leading to higher operational costs and a reduction in overall system efficiency. CTI certification alleviates liability for consulting engineers and instills peace of mind in equipment owners.
